Christmas In the Summertime

I recently began recording traditional Christmas songs for an upcoming Christmas-themed album. I hope the songs will be interpreted to be modern takes on older songs. The songs are well-known, but they're in the public domain (and thus, they do not require me to purchase any mechanical rights to record them). I am hoping to have the recording done by the middle of October and to have the album go live shortly before Thanksgiving. The main reason I am recording Christmas music is in hopes that I can make enough money to fund what I REALLY want to do: recording innovative covers of rock songs, to be titled Molotov Cocktail Piano. However, those songs DO require that I purchase the mechanical rights before I release them for sale and it can get a little pricey.

I'm also hoping to hear from Disney Cruise Lines to become one of their specialty pianists. I spoke to the talent coordinator earlier this year and no positions were open at the time. However, she said she'd contact me as soon as anything became available. Fingers crossed.
